John Suchan lives in Wainwright, AB. Growing up, John always had an abundance of imagination and creativity. He learned the guitar at a young age, and still plays today. He picked drawing back up in 2019, after having set it aside since high school. John started with cheap ballpoint pens, wanting to demonstrate that art is accessible to everyone. Some of these early drawings & sketches appear in the Portolio page. He now uses a set of rapidograph technical pens, and has recently begun etching and printmaking. Besides his art, John has had a long career in the Canadian Armed Forces as an infantry soldier, helped raise a family of five children, and, no matter how busy he gets, stays curious and imaginative in all situations. He currently lives on a farm where he enjoys the company of several cats and horses, all of whom love him.
